- Start any day of the week.
- Practice daily, in the order listed
- Repeat each exercise a minimum of three times before moving to the next chord example.
- Sing the exercises only as far in your range as is comfortable. Never force the sound, but allow your voice to improve naturally.
- Always use a mirror to check your form and muscle movement.
This Practice Plan will begin with humming practice followed by the /hmm . . . mee/ movement exercises to reinforce the concepts learned in this lesson and to warm up your voice for the rest of the exercises. Do not skip these daily exercises, as they are an integral part of creating muscle memory for the vowel /ee/.
As written, these Practice Plans will now last an average of twenty-five to thirty minutes. Remember, it is not the quantity of time you practice, but the quality of the muscle movements that create results.
Many singers want to know how long they should practice, and the answer varies with each individual. At a minimum, you need to practice fifteen to twenty minutes per day, five days a week. As you work through the vocal exercises and track your improvement, you will have a better idea of what kind of time commitment is necessary to achieve the results you seek.
